For construction bookkeepers and controllers on QuickBooks Online

Your monthly WIP schedule from QuickBooks Online, without rebuilding the spreadsheet

WIP Monthly reads job costs and billings from your QuickBooks Online report export, collects cost-to-complete estimates from your project managers by email, and builds the WIP schedule in the columns sureties ask for.

Questions

Does it work if our jobs are set up differently in QuickBooks?

Yes. Setup maps how your company tracks jobs, whether as projects, customers or classes. You enter each job's contract amount and retainage once; they carry forward.

How do the numbers get in from QuickBooks?

Each month you export one report, Profit and Loss by Customer (or by Class), and upload it. WIP Monthly reads billed to date and cost to date for every job from it. There is no QuickBooks connection to set up.

Do our project managers need an account?

No. Each PM gets one email listing their jobs with a link to enter cost to complete, then a reminder each weekday morning until they do, up to five.

Can I change a number before it goes to the surety?

Yes. Override any figure or estimate with a note. Nothing is locked until you finalize the month, and that is when the PDF and Excel file are made.
